Registration is for a period of 12 months and expires on 30 June. Architects must renew their registration every year to ensure a high standard of practice is maintained.
Architects must make and submit their application for registration renewal during the renewal period from 1 April to 31 May.
To renew their registration the Architect must meet continuing registration requirements demonstrating that they have maintained competency by completing 20 hours of CPD of which 10 hours must be formal from 1 April to 31 March prior to the renewal period.
Renewing your registration need not be difficult and there are things you can do to make the process as straightforward as possible. These are outlined below.

Ensure your contact details are up to date
This will ensure you don't miss any updates or information from the BOAQ including your personalised renewal form. Ensure that your details include a street address from which you are offering architectural services listed.
Make sure you have logged your CPD activities completed since 1 April 2020 up to 31 March 2021.
