Ready to Renew

Registration is for a period of 12 months and expires on 30 June. Architects must renew their registration every year to ensure a high standard of practice is maintained.

Architects must make and submit their application for registration renewal during the renewal period from 1 April to 31 May.

To renew their registration the Architect must meet continuing registration requirements demonstrating that they have maintained competency by completing 20 hours of CPD of which 10 hours must be formal from 1 April to 31 March prior to the renewal period.

Renewing your registration need not be difficult and there are things you can do to make the process as straightforward as possible. These are outlined below.

Ensure your contact details are up to date 
This will ensure you don't miss any updates or information from the BOAQ including your personalised renewal form.  Ensure that your details include a street address from which you are offering architectural services listed. 


Log your completed CPD Activities

Make sure you have logged your CPD activities completed since 1 April 2020 up to 31 March 2021. 
Remember My ARCH CPD can be accessed within your architect portal when you sign in.  The trackers can help you see how you are going towards
meeting your requirements. 

You may be audited to make sure you have completed the required CPD hours.

Prepare any information required for FTP
Prepare any supporting documentation concerning a fitness to practice issue (e.g. notice of suspension of registration, conditions on registration, criminal
convictions, information about bankruptcy or health). 
You will be required to provide this to the BOAQ in support of your application for renewal.

Know you signin details ready to renew online
click sign in to head to sign in and then click on My Account to find the renew now button to complete your renewal.  Click on Forgot my password to create a password if you have never signed in before or to update a forgotten password.  A link will be emailed to the email address on your record.
